QUARRY FARM
Quarry Farm was Mark Twain’s summer residence in Elmira, NY.
I was hired for this job by Elmira College’s Center for Mark Twain Studies.
Joseph Lemack, the Director of The Center For Mark Twain Studies, contacted me in the first quarter of 2025 to rebuild their website as they had been having some technical issues with their previous one. Their prior website featured a banner on the home page of drone captured footage of Quarry Farm, captured by a drone from the north starting from (best guess) about 80′ up and maybe 1/10th of a mile away, and ending near the front of that iconic porch.
While the original drone footage looked just fine, it quickly became apparent to me as I worked on the website that Quarry Farm had acquired different porch furniture that was more in line with Twain’s time. So, it seemed to me that it should be updated and The Center agreed. So far I have spent 2 afternoons at Quarry Farm capturing the property with my drone and will soon be capturing more footage of the inside and out.
