ARCHITECTURE
ARCHITECTURE
Even before I became a commercial drone photographer I always appreciated cool architecture. Although I am not a religious person, I especially love to look at elegant old churches. And now that I can take pictures of them from every conceivable angle, I like them even more! It’s not JUST about churches of course! And, eventually many more drone images and footage of other types of architecture will be added to this page.

CHRIST EPISCOPAL CHURCH: CORNING, NY

Christ Episcopal Church, located on the corner of First Street and Cedar, in Corning is a beautiful English Gothic style stone church offset by gorgeous red doors and rooftops. It was built in the late 1800s with the bell tower being cast in 1871. 84+ stained glass windows add it its beauty.

This drone picture was captured on a particularly cold morning in December 2023. Although this picture is not technically “raw”, very little has been done to alter it. Beyond some slight desaturation of the surrounding area, texture adjustments and very minor lighting levels adjustments, this is almostt exactly what came off the the drone’s camera. Details listed below for camera/drone nerds.

If you’d like to see the church in person, see the map below.

Also, if you’d like to see some inside pictures including the windows, visit the church’s website at christepiscopalcorning.org

THE ROCKWELL MUSEUM

The Rockwell Museum is an architectural staple in Corning. It was the former city hall of Corning – a building that suffered significant damage in the local floods in 1972. The building was restored to glory in the early 1980s before it became a museum.

I captured this image the same morning as the above image of Christ Episcopal Church. And, much like that image, very little has been done to this image of The Rockwell beyond some desaturation of the surrounding area. Camera specs listed below.

You can learn more about The Rockwell at their website, rockwellmuseum.org

See the map below if you’d like to visit the museum.

Grace Episcopal Church: Elmira, NY

Caught these photos of Grace Episcopal Church in Elmira on a Saturday morning in December of 2023. Sometimes it’s overcast mornings that really bring out the texture in a photo. Such was the case here. Traffic was just starting to pick up a bit on Church Street so I was only able to take a few shots, these being the best of them.

FIRST METHODIST CHURCH: CORNING, NY

There are so many beautiful looking churches in Corning, NY. The First Methodist Church on Cedar Street is one my personal favorites. I really love the combination of colors between the main structure and the roof.

These particular pictures were taken relatively early in the morning in December of 2023. If you look closely at the images, you can see that it was snowing at the time, which added such a cool extra element to the pictures. Although my fingers were freezing while controlling the drone, the results were worth it.

If you’d like to see the church in person, see the Google map below.
